  • BS or associate ME/MET or EE/EET
  • Industrial capital equipment experience
  • Possible domestic and/or international travel
  • Foreign language desired

Assembly or Field Service

  • Assemblers (mechanical / hydraulic / pneumatic)
  • Machine Electricians / Panel Builders
  • Die Makers
  • Tool Room Machinists
  • Field Service Technicians

For Assembly or Field Service positions, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Print/schematic reading
  • Basic machining
  • Precision assembly
  • Electrical/Hydraulic/Pneumatic/Mechanical/Welding Repair
  • Electronics troubleshooting
  • PLC Programming
  • Work independently
  • Willingness for domestic and/or international travel

For Machining positions, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Print Reading
  • Setup
  • Print-to-Part Machining/Journeyperson Skills
  • If Boring Mill - qualify a weldment
  • If CNC - download program, program at panel
  • Prevision measurement
  • Work Independently

Apprenticeships
Hess Engineering sponsors an apprenticeship program with the State of Michigan Department of Labor. Persons trained include machinists, draftsmen, and machine builders. A typical program requires 8,000 hours practical training plus classroom training in technical subjects.
