Applications : Exhaust
Much like their automotive counterparts, marine engines and on-board generators must now comply with stringent emission control standards. Catalytic converters must be used to limit harmful emissions. Converters contain one or more ceramic or metallic substrates within a stainless steel tube. The diameters at the ends of the tube are reduced to facilitate coupling to other exhaust components. Termination of the ends can be symmetrical, offset or oblique to the tube axis. In some cases, marine converters may be surrounded by an outer shell or casing. Water is then circulated between the converter and the outer case to lower the operating temperature of the device and provide exhaust noise reduction.
Our catalytic converter machines can insert the substrate(s), size the tube, spin the ends and mark the finished product. Additionally we offer machines for assembly and welding of the inner and outer tubes into a completed assembly.
