Applications : Agriculture

A wide variety of shafts are used in the production of today’s agricultural equipment. These range from powertrain components for motorized vehicles to specialty shafts (such as auger shafts) used within the collection and distribution devices of various automated farm implements.
Subject to today’s environmental regulations, agricultural equipment now requires sophisticated exhaust and emission control systems. These include catalytic converts to limit harmful emissions and resonators to lower operational noise levels. Other miscellaneous components also require specialized metalforming operations.
The metalforming processes offered by Hess Engineering are well-suited for the production of these components. Specifically:
- Machined and assembled shafts experience distortion during heat treating and assembly operations. Our manual and automatic straightening machines are used to remove those distortions prior to the final operations on those parts.
- Older multiple piece converters and resonators can now be replaced with one-piece designs using our spinforming technologies.
- A wide range of high-quality, wheel products can be produced on our wheel and rim machines.
- Specialty components, such as gas tank filler necks, can be manufactured on our 1-Roll, 2-Axis Tube Spinformers.
If you have an application, contact us to talk about your project. Our engineering team will work with you to determine the metalforming process solutions that are right for your project.
