Applications : Industrial

Many industrial metalforming requirements are unique in that the parts are physically large, requiring special handling equipment and significant forming forces. These include oil and gas drill rod extensions and large pipe couplings. Smaller applications include canister filters, which are widely used in the printing and food processing industries.
The metalforming processes offered by Hess Engineering can address these needs in the following ways:
- Drill rod extensions, subjected to distortion forces during their manufacturing processes, can be straightened on our manual and automatic straightening machines.
- Pipe coupling rings, formed from angle iron or other extruded shapes, can be coiled on our coiling machines and welded by our AC Flash Welders.
- Grooves, tapers and flare for canister filters can be formed on our 1-Roll, 2-Axis Tube Spinformers.
- Other miscellaneous components can take advantage of our coiling, welding, spinforming and straightening technologies.
If you have an application, contact us to talk about your project. Our engineering team will work with you to determine the metalforming process solutions that are right for your project.
