Applications : Marine

Marine applications utilize a wide variety of shafts. These can include powertrain and driveshaft components. Also now subject to stricter environmental regulations, marine engines and on-board generators require more sophisticated exhaust and emission control systems. These include catalytic converters to limit harmful emissions and resonators to lower operational noise levels. Other miscellaneous components may also require specialized metalforming operations.
The metalforming processes offered by Hess Engineering are well-suited for the production of these components. Specifically:
- Machined and assembled shafts experience distortion during heat treating and assembly operations. Our manual and automatic straightening machines are used to remove those distortions prior to the final operations on those parts.
- One piece converters and resonators can be produced using our 1-Roll, 2-Axis Tube Spinformers.
- Other miscellaneous components can take advantage of our coiling, welding, spinforming and straightening technologies.
If you have an application, contact us to talk about your project. Our engineering team will work with you to determine the metalforming process solutions that are right for your project.
