Applications : Nose Cones

Nose cones are tapered cylindrical shapes used in applications where minimal air resistance and good aerodynamic characteristics are required. The tapers are generally long in length and may require continuously varying radius changes to achieve the desire application objectives. A flat disc (or in some cases, a cylindrical tube) is used as the preform or blank. The major diameter can be reduced to a minor diameter for joining to another component. In some cases, however, end closing to form a bullet-shape or pointed nose may be required.
