Applications : Oil Drilling
Oil and gas exploration requires long drill rod extensions that allow deep penetration of the drill bit into the earth crust. These rods can be hollow or bored to allow the injection of gases or fluids to force debris up the outside of the rod, back to the surface. Processes used to hollow or bore these long rods can cause distortion that then requires straightening prior to final application.
