Applications : Resonator
Resonators reduce the noise output of an exhaust system. They consist of a long stainless steel tube that contains a perforated inner tube. Depending on the application, the inner tube may be surrounded by a sound-absorbing material. The diameters at the ends of the tube are reduced to facilitate coupling to other components of the exhaust system. It is desirable to reduce the end diameters without having to rotate the part so that the inner tube and fill materials will not be dislodged.
Our 2-Roll, 2-Axis Static Workholding Spinformer holds the assembled resonator in a non-rotating position, reduces the diameter of both ends and trims both ends to prepare the resonator for welding into the exhaust system.
