MidBed HEGO Spinner

Purpose

A variation of the Concentric Tube Spinner, this system produces a reduced diameter at a specified distance from the shell ends to accommodate a HEGO boss below the shell OD.

Description

At start of the cycle a completed part will be located in the chuck, the spindle will be stopped, and the chuck will be clamped. The part will be unclamped and ejected via hydraulic ejector onto the waiting part unload nest. The nest will rotate up, dropping the finished part into the exit chute. The new part located on the load nest will be raised into position for loading, and the tailstock will advance, loading the part into the chuck and fully engaging the backstop tooling. The spinformer will automatically clamp the part and begin the spinform cycle. The load nest will return to the lowered position where the next raw tube will be released from the incoming part chute onto the loading nest. The unload chute will be retracted, and will rotate down into the unload position before extending and then returning to the "ready for unload" position.

The spinformed part will roll out of the part unload chute onto the gravity type transfer conveyor. The part will then roll down to the conveyor and transfer to a press for the HEGO hole punch. The loader will extend, pushing the part into the press die set. The part will then be clamped, and pierced. Once the press retracts, the loader automation will automatically remove the part from the die set and release it onto the nest station. The part will be ejected via pneumatic escapement to the powered unload conveyor for return to the operator.
