3-Roll Coiler
3-Roll Coilers produce bands with short circumferential flats, rendering them most suitable for the butt welding operation. Most common products include rim bands, motor shells, or any tubular configuration. The features of the 3-roll coiler include:
- Rigid frame
- Double-end supported rolls
- Tiltable exit roll
- Pull-back roll
- Feed rolls
- All rolls are driven (except pullback roll)
- Oil bath gearbox drive
- Entry guide system
- Pusher unloader
- Upward or downward coiling configurations
4-Roll Bull Roll Coiler
4-Roll Bull Roll Coilers are used to coil pre-formed hot-rolled steel sections or aluminum extrusions. Most common products include truck rims, earthmover rims, side rings, and lock rings. The features of the 4-roll coiler include:
- Rigid frame
- Large center roll (Bull Roll)
- Actuated bull roll for loading and unloading
- Three lower rolls
- Double-end support on lower rolls
- Lower rolls independently adjustable to control bending
- All rolls are driven
4-Roll Articulated Roll Coiler
4-Roll Articulated Roll Coilers are used to produce flat or profiled circles which the user desires to be round to the ends. The 4-roll articulated roll coiler is similar to the 4-roll bull roll coiler except that the bull roll, the entry roll, and the exit roll are all actuated at various times during the machine cycle. The “bull roll” in this case, however, can be considerably smaller than the product I.D. The features of the 4-roll articulated roll coiler include:
- Rigid frame
- Actuated bull roll, entry roll, and exit roll
- Double-end support on lower rolls
- Bull roll and bottom center pinch roll driven
- Adjustable bull roll, entry roll, and exit roll
