Products : Shrinking/Expanding Machines
Expanders are used to accurately size circular rings or hoops by applying an outward force to the inside circumference. During expanding, the part is stretched to its final size. Both straight side and profiled parts can be expanded to obtain the desired final part size. Hess expanders have the following characteristics:
- Over 55 expanders of all sizes and configurations in service
- Multi-segmented heads with 6, 8, 10, 12, or 16 radially spaced segments
- Expanding cone with flats and replaceable wear liners
- Cones with precision ground flats for maximum accuracy and minimum friction loss
- Manually adjustable stop or fully adjustable automatic position control
- Hydraulically actuated push or pull designs
- Configurations in double opposing heads, single head, and mandrel assemblies that can be placed in the customer's existing press.
Shrinkers are used to accurately size circular rings or hoops by applying inward force to the outside circumference . During shrinking, the part is compressed to its final size. Both straight side and profiled parts can be shrunk to obtain the desired final part size. Hess shrinkers have the following characteristics:
- Over 20 shrinkers of all sizes in service
- Multi-segmented heads with 8, 10, 12, or 16 radially spaced segments
- Wedges with flats and replaceable wear liners
- Wedges and jaws with precision ground flats for maximum accuracy and minimum friction loss
- T-Key jaw retention and guidance return for positive control
- Hydraulically actuated jaws guided by wedges
