Products : Shrinking/Expanding Machines : Shrinker

Purpose

The shrinker with the brick stuffer station is a standalone, semiautomatic machine which positions a brick in a catalytic converter light off tube, then shrinks the diameter of the tube.

Description

A hydraulically actuated walking beam transfers parts from one station to the next. A hydraulically-actuated loader/unloader moves parts into and out of the shrinker; a pneumatically-actuated gripper collet on the loader/unloader grips the parts. A hydraulically-actuated shrinker shrinks the parts to the proper diameter. A pneumatically-actuated inspection station clamps and inspects parts for the presence and location of a brick. A pneumatically-actuated reject cylinder transfers parts to exit chute or reject chute depending on the result of the inspection. Tooling is dedicated to the U-152 converter.
