Hess Engineering: Metalforming Technologies

Products : Spinforming Machines

With the experience of over 140 spinforming and flowforming machines, Hess Engineering offers what we feel is the most highly developed technology available today. Revisions based upon actual field experience are incorporated into our modern spinners including enhancements in our spindle design, roller housing design, slide design, slide feedback system, and the control system.

Non-Static Spinformers

Spinforming generally refers to a group of forming processes used to produce a great variety of hollow parts of differing shapes and variable wall thicknesses. Almost any material that is available in sheet or tube form can be spin formed.
Common to most spin forming processes is the rotation of the work piece. A forming tool, usually a roller, is fed into the rotating work piece along a prescribed path to plastically deform the part. Several passes are usually required to produce a finished part.

Static Spinformers

Unlike common spin forming processes which rotate the work piece, static spinners feed a clamped part into a set of rotating forming rolls along a prescribed path to plastically deform the part. Several passes are usually required to produce a finished part.
