2-Roll, 4-Axis Static Workholding Spinformer

Purpose

This machine will spinform tubes to a predetermined concentric or offset contour.

Description

This machine will be equipped with a high-speed headstock assembly including a two-roll rotating work head for part forming. This machine will also be equipped with a static work holding device which will allow continuous work head rotation eliminating acceleration and deceleration times from the part cycle.

A two-axis slide assembly will be positioned in line with the headstock spindle. The slides will be actuated by electric servo motors. The rotating static work holding assembly will be actuated by an electric servo motor and will be mounted on the slide assembly.

Interchangeable tooling will allow rapid changeover for various part configurations.

This machine will use a CNC control system for easy programming and rapid part profile changeover. A detailed error messaging system is included in the CNC for troubleshooting machine functions.
