2-Roll, 5-Axis Tube Spinformer

Purpose

This machine will spinform tubes to a predetermined concentric contour while controlling the length of the tube.

Description

This machine will be equipped with a high-speed headstock assembly including a recirculating headstock lube system and is equipped with a spindle nose fitted with a part work holding chuck.

Two opposing two-axis roller slide assemblies will be positioned 90 degrees from the spindle axis to aid in programming during the development of new part profiles. The slides will be hydraulically actuated allowing rapid travel speeds and high force values. A forming roller assembly is mounted on each roller slide assembly.

A hydraulically actuated tailstock assembly with Hess Length Control will provide accurate part length compensation for varying material parameters (when producing tube based products).

Interchangeable tooling will allow rapid changeover for various part configurations.

This machine will use a CNC control system for easy programming and rapid part profile changeover. A detailed error messaging system is included in the CNC for troubleshooting machine functions.
