Electro-Mechanical Straightener
Purpose
An Electro-Mechanical Straightener is specifically designed to remove runout induced during heat-treating and welding processes. Typical applications include transmission shafts, camshafts, crankshafts, pinions, drive shafts, axles and general tubular parts.

Description
The straightening machine uses a pivoted lever (rocker) design. This patented, rigid design consists of an all welded, stress relieved base, table, and ram plate assembly. The rotating ram plate is torsion free, preventing flexing at any level of force up to and above the machine tonnage rating. The ram plate rotates in heavy duty, maintenance free bearings assuring smooth and accurate motion.
The ram drive system consists of an AC servo motor and control, bevel gear and cam disk assembly, and high-resolution incremental encoder. The cam disk drive with zero backlash is of a simple and rugged construction. The design is rated well above the force requirements of the machine and guarantees minimum maintenance and high reliability. Positioning accuracy, with repeatability of .002 mm, ensures optimum cycle times and straightening results.
