Flexible Changeover

For part families with similar geometric configurations, Hess-MAE offers a number of changeover options:

• Extended Travel Failstocks with integral anvils and probes all like parts of varying lengths to be processed without the need for physical tooling changes.
• Two and Three Position Anvils allow varying part diameters to be accommodated.
• A Part Length Sensing Station prior to the straightening station selects the correct straightening program and position tooling.
• Manual and Automatic Part Shuttles allow two dissimilar parts to be processed with little to no changeover.
• Fully Automatic Changeover between like parts, using servo-positioned tooling, offers ultimate changeover flexibility.
