Master Gage Bars

The master gage bar is used to check and verify the accuracy and repeatability of the machine measuring system. The gage bar is similar in size and dimension to the part being straightened, but is manufactured and certified to have known runouts at the measuring positions. The gage bar is manually loaded directly into the straightening station. A manual calibration procedure is then performed. Upon completion of the calibration procedure, the gage bar must be manually removed from the straightener. The machine is equipped with a sensor to detect the presence of the master gage bar in the straightening station, preventing initiation of a straightening cycle that would result in damage to the master part.
