Pneumatic Manual Machine

Purpose

These low-cost manual straighteners are used in low-volume straightening applications where the cost of automatic straightening equipment cannot be justified. Typical applications include small diameter round parts that require minimal straightening forces.

Description

These machines use a heavy-duty, welded frame construction with integral pneumatic or hydro-pneumatic power units. A stroke depth actuator with digital display provides continuous, smooth adjustment of the straightening stroke. A fixed home position is provided for loading and unloading with an adjustable clearance height setting to allow part rotation for runout inspection with minimal effect on straightening cycle time.

Units are available from 1.5 to 16 tons with a full array of tooling options for straightening parts between centers or roller supports. Other options include dial indicator holders, retractable anvils, and special gauging fixtures.

Advantages

  • Very low cost
  • Minimal frame deflection (one piece frame design)
  • Flexibility to accommodate a wide range of smaller-size parts
  • Precision ram stroke repeatability
  • Ease of setup/changeover
  • Minimal floor space
