Technologies : Flowforming
The primary objective of flowforming is to create a final shape from flat stock, tubing or a pre-form using mandrels. Flowforming generates substantial pressure between the forming rolls and the work piece to flow the material from one area of the work piece to another. The shape of the finished work piece is determined by the profile of the mandrel and precisely positioned forming roll pressure controlled by advanced CNC technology. No material is lost during the forming process, resulting in less raw material used to create the finished product.

Why Hess?
Flowforming is a centuries old technique that Hess has adapted to meet the demands of modern manufacturing needs. Hess’ flowforming equipment offers significant advantages when compared to other material shaping processes such as metal cutting or swedging.
Hess’ experience with flowforming began more than a decade ago. The addition of the Keiserling GmbH flowforming product line in 1998 then broadened our product offering and services in the flowforming area. Hess processes offer cost-effective use of material while increasing structural integrity and strength. Our engineering team uses advanced flowforming techniques to solve customer demands for high-quality, lighter-weight applications.
